This version of the “Cheater” narrative will be similar to the second version, in terms of having the flashback dispersed across the film. But instead of having thew protagonist witnessing the cheating at a party, it will be just out and about in Liverpool Town Centre instead.
Characters:
The characters are the same as both previous versions.
Story:
Riley goes to Chelsea’s house for a casual meet-up. After some small talk(here I will use triangular filming), Riley looks at a photograph of Kyle and Chelsea together.
[The first flashback will be of Riley doing something casual, this could be her getting a drink at a coffee shop or bar.]
Chelsea is talking about how well the relationship is going, sounds become slightly distorted.
[The second flashback will be Riley leaving this bar to sit on a bench and have a cigarette.]
Sounds and vision now becoming more distorted, close ups of under Riley’s eyes, you can see her sweating.
[Riley is walking up a busy street, the city becomes chaotic. Until we see Kyle with another girl, he kisses her in plain sight and does not notice that Riley is there.]
Snaps out of the flashback with the sound of a door shutting. Kyle enters the room, “oh are you alright sis I didn’t know you were her” he is acting perfectly normal. Riley gives an awkward greeting. Kyle tells Chelsea that he is going out for the night and he will be staying in his friends. The kettle violently boil’s and the sounds all become intensified at once.
Slow creep in to Riley as this is the time where she needs to make her decision.
Thoughts about the idea:
- This idea would be easier to execute because I would not have to make a party scene and get extras to film it.
- None of the flashbacks are particularly exiting, so I think this dulls the impact of the final twist.
- I don’t like this idea, it bores me.
